World Population Prospects 2022 Africa’s population continues to grow
(Front Line News)
The United Nations Population Trends Report has been issued. It shows that Africa’s population growth is expected to continue at a high rate.
According to the report, between 2022 and 2050, the population of sub-Saharan Africa (Sub-Saharan Africa) is expected to almost double, reaching over 2 billion by the late 2040s. The graph below shows that the growth in Central and South Asia, where India is located, is also significant, but Sub-Saharan Africa is quickly catching up. Also, the average fertility rate in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2050 is still nearly 3 children per woman, and there is still room for growth; in 2022, Sub-Saharan Africa’s population is growing at 2.5% per year, the highest growth rate of any other region in the world and more than three times the global average of 0.8% per year.
